The «Party» button, formerly the «Edit» button, is to set your team-formation. I have two sets of teams for each non-Light/non-Dark Element: #1-2 (Fire), #3-4 (Ice), #5-6 (Zap), #7-8 (Wind), #9 (Light), #11 (Dark). One of the basics you will want to know about is to match the most-appropriate Soul with the Element-Type that you set your team for. This is important is because not all Souls can equip every weapon that you might have available. For example, D'Artagnan is only able to equip Gun-Type Weapons, and, back at the original time of this writing, the only Gun-Type Weapons that I had collected were always Wind-Element; therefore, I did not automatically assign her as the Character (Soul) to every or any Team, not unless the team was being designated as a Wind-Element Team-Formation (and the reason that this is important is because Full-Burst Damage-Type will determined by the Element-Type of the Weapon that the Soul has Equipped; this is for DPS-purposes). Some time during the year 2018CE, the total number of teams that could be set went from 6 to 12 in total, and towards the latter part of the year 2018CE, they even had their own button-numbers !

Many of you might click on that «Recommended» button to Auto-Set your team-formations, but, unless the «Main» Eidolon is one of your SSR-Eidolons, your Main Eidolon is not necessarily the optimum one to set. For such instances, the «most-useful» Eidolon can be set manually as the Main Eidolon after each Formation-Edit, and you should see on the Edit-Screen that the Eidolons are divided into your Main and the rest as Sub-Eidolons. The primary reason for doing this is so that your «friends» select your Eidolon when doing their Quests/Raids/etc. The more often you are selected, the more Gems you get each day, and the more resources you will have available to enhance Accessories !

I historically preferred Eidolons with «Burst Streak DMG↑ %%» effects but, upon further testing, I found that the ATK↑%% had more to do with damage (including Burst-Damages) than the «Burst Streak DMG↑ %%» effect did. I also include an image (right) to show how your «Main-Eidolon» is separate from your Sub-Eidolons. Historically, your Main Eidolon was the default Support-Eidolon for your Friends, but now your Support-Eidolon can be assigned per element in your Profile-page, separate from the Main Eidolon you may happen to be using for your own Eidolon-Grid !

Another thing you might want to do with your teams that are not full-element (i.e.: when all six slots of any particular team-formation are not entirely of the same-element Kamihime), is to always include a Healer in there somewhere, due to their healing abilities so that you can survive difficult battles longer, assuming that you are not using a good healer already. With experience, and depending on the Luck of the Gacha-Draws, you should try for Effective-Formations.

Your decision on how to put together the most-effective team-configurations will be put to the test when it comes to the Accessories Quests and any Ragnarok-Level Battles. This is tricker at lower ranks but, once you become strong enough, you should be able to let Auto-Battle handle many situations for you.
